Directly before the gates of Europe, pilot-whales are gathered several times a year together and brutally slaughtered. Animal rights activists condemn the slaughter, the locals defend it as their tradition.

Shattering images of past whale slaughtering is calling the Sea Shepherds for help. With an interference they want to prevent the slaughter from the water and from the land. Will they do it? Among the islanders, there are hardly any whaling opponents.

The film does not only show the view of the activists, but also lets the locals gain insight into the tradition of whaling. In addition, experts provide information on the ecology and way of life of whales.
